Baden-Powell Heritage Centre
Baden-Powell Park, Cash Avenue
Samford
Queensland.
Centre: The Baden-Powell Heritage Centre
contains a display of Scouting memorabilia collected and donated by
various people, both within Scouting and members of the general public,
Scouting groups and other Scouting sources.
History: Vic Waddell, a Scouting
Field Commissioner, instituted the idea of a collection of Scouting
memorabilia and set up a display for the Jindalee Jamboree in a council
bus and a tent with approximately 200 items. The success of this
display led to displays at other Scouting functions and eventually the
provision of the "Wheelhouse" at Baden-Powell Park Samford to house the
display permanently. Planning: Make a visit to the
Heritage Centre a part of your planning when you visit Baden-Powell Park
Samford to camp or visit.
Outing: Looking for a day outing? Bring a picnic lunch and
visit the Heritage Centre. Experienced Guides will conduct you through
the Centre and answer your questions.
