Heritage Archival Reference Centre

Location: The Heritage Archival Reference Centre is located on the ground floor of the Queensland Scout Centre at 32 Dixon Street Auchenflower Brisbane.  The Centre is the repository for records of Scouting in Queensland.  The object is to establish a file for each group which existed or still exists in Queensland, to record the major as well as minor happenings in their history.

Activities:  The Branch Historian is working meticulously through the Scouting magazines and extracting any of the material referring to a  Group, District, Area, County, Region and Branch and filing this in the appropriate file.

Photographs: are being identified, sorted and added to the appropriate file as well as being scanned to an electronic file for the same unit.

Library: The Heritage Archival Reference Centre also houses one of two libraries.  These libraries contain copies of Scouting Publications and the various editions of these publications which are available for reference.

Research: The volunteer Curator and staff of the centre will carry out research for Scouting units as well as individuals for a nominal fee.  Representatives and individuals are welcome to do their own research at the centre.
Contact: - please see the Contact Us page of the web for details.
